Candela with A Cause
A Cause for Entertainment held its 4th annual fundraising event to fight breast cancer on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Candela in Los Angeles. This yearâs event raised money for the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and Shay Sharpeâs Pink Wishes, which grants last wishes to and supports the families of women under the age of 40 who have been given a terminal diagnosis.Â

Bring on Awareness
The annual gala in previous years has drawn some of Hollywoodâs most notable TV and film stars. This year, the emcee will be actress Sarah Burns (Wet Hot American Summer, I Love You, Man, Big Little Lies, American Vandal).
Most of us don’t even think about breast cancer until were later down the road in life. Actress Sarah Burns said that this is the very reason why we should start talking about mammograms and breast cancer diagnosis because women need to be aware. She recalled an incident she had herself just last year when a friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, she felt the urge to go and have a mammogram and her doctors found something to be of concern. After sonograms and visits to a specialist for additional test, Sarah happily said that she’s all clear. But wouldn’t have had the exam if weren’t for her close friend’s diagnosis. So talking about it definitely brings on awareness.

Dr. Susan M. Love, MD, MBA has dedicated her professional life to the eradication of breast cancer. Since the 1970âs her then career quickly turned into a mission and as chief visionary officer of Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (DSLRF), Dr. Love oversees an active research program centered on breast cancer cause and prevention.

Grandmother, My Best Friend
Founder of A Cause For Entertainment Jessica Sherman has a simple mission and that’s to support and empower individuals and communities affected by breast cancer. This is accomplished by raising awareness and funds to support research, education and the individuals and families who are currently facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
During the summer of 2008 my life was touched by cancer says Sherman. My grandmother, who was my best friend, was diagnosed with both breast and colon cancer. It breaks my heart that this is just one of many stories I can tell, but it has motivated me to take action. Shortly after my grandmother was diagnosed, I started working with the Avon Foundation and began participating in the 39.3-mile walk in Santa Barbara with the largest crowd of survivors and supporters Iâve ever seen. After 6 years of working with Avon I was inspired to do more, and thus A Cause for Entertainment was born.

Guest enjoyed access to the exclusive raffle, hors dâoeuvres, live music, entertainment, and an InfiniPhoto Booth. Food was provided by the insanely creative and delicious Gastro Garage.
