Thank you to Warner Bros. for sponsoring this post.  Scooby- Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang have teamed up with generationOn, the youth family division of Points of Light, to inspire, equip and mobilize kids, parents and Scooby-Doo fans to create meaningful change in their communities.

MYSTERY SOLVED!  The Sooner, The Better for Community Service

“By engaging children in service early on, they begin to lead a civic life, which in turn helps to create a civic culture,” said Tammea Tyler, Vice President of generationOn.

Life-long commitment to social responsibility is just as crucial as academics and not much of a mystery for families anymore.  Today there are lots of volunteer options for families to choose from.  Scooby-Doo #DooGood and the Mystery Inc. Gang have teamed up with environmentally focused organizations Enrich LA and generationOn to help spread the word about how we can volunteer to care for our environment.

The ‘DOO GOOD’ campaign is nationwide and started this spring with the initiative, Save the Environment, leading into Earth Day on April 22.  We’ve partnered with Warner Bros., generationOn, and local community wellness non-profit organization Enrich LA to #DooGood in our community.  My family, along with several other families, participated in planting a summer fruit and vegetable garden, fulfilling a Los Angeles based social service act at a local underserved school.

Watch: We Rode in The Mystery Machine To #DooGood for Our Community

The daylong commitment started with a warm welcome from Warner Bros., generationOn and EnrichLA .  We enjoyed a healthy breakfast and a once in a lifetime experience; a ride in the life sized Mystery Machine!  Our video above takes you inside this wonderful experience and you’ll see how easy and rewarding it is to volunteer in our community.

Making the Connection with Scooby Doo and Boomerang!

Laugh with all the cartoons you love.

Stream more than 2,000 episodes with your favorite icons – Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry and more.

Everything old is new again and what better way to bridge the gap in generations than by channeling the spirit of Scooby-Doo!  It certainly got my attention.  I had a nostalgic moment thinking back to the 80s when I tuned in weekly for Scooby and Shaggy’s adventures and goofiness!  Do you remember the audience laughter in the background?

Here is an opportunity to follow Scooby-Doo as he solves one mystery after another on Boomerang.

I’m giving away five (5) one-year complimentary subscriptions to Boomerang.

Thank you to Warner Bros. and Boomerang for providing these products. Giveaway open to adults 18+ based in the United States. Limited to one submission per person.

All winners will be selected on May 8, 2018.

As a mom, a nurturer by nature, I feel more aware than ever that inspiring the next generation to engage in social programs at an early age is critical to the health and survival of our community and environment.  It’ll even strengthen the character of our children while instilling a sense of pride, knowing that they contributed to something much bigger than themselves.

Gardening involves a lot of physical work, but as we all know, you have to put in work to see results.  Volunteering in your community also provide lessons and learning opportunities like empathy, work ethic and what it takes to get food onto their plates.

You can do the same, volunteer amongst a group of families and tackle a community project together.  I believe this method really connects you to nature and your community organically.

It Is Our Social Responsibility to #DooGood

Our community is like a chain and if there is a single weak link, the entire chain is compromised.

We all want to raise our children to be good human beings and serve in our communities.  It’s important to teach them that they need to give as much as they receive.  Weighing in on different areas of life it seems to me that nature is by far the biggest contributor to everyone’s life.  So let’s give back to the source.  Let’s protect it and replenish it for the future.  Let’s join Scooby-Doo and #DooGOOD.
